Another Day in Paradise

What is the plan? The great piece to the puzzle. Each and every face I see here today is looking for a purpose or got lost in a cause. Where we, the weak willed intoxicate our doubts in a pool of drunken misery that seems to get older every single time. Yeah, I'm feeling down, cause here I am, in the sweaty and noisy bustling reality within the midst of a busy city waiting to meet another perpetual wrestle for the promise of another dream.

Particularly because I just got back to this harsh reality on Monday, from a blissful paradise-like state of being in Phuket. Deep sigh... thats what life should be like, cooling off in the pool from the beautiful soaring heat or laying under the sun to get some color in my skin to ward off my ghostly tan-less image while the serene voice of the ocean calms your nerves and melds your worries... so far away from bills, frills and all of those overrated thrills.

So, here I am, back in the clockwork and churning that vicious cycle of a wheel... waiting for my next escape to another paradise. Bali anyone?

i think the private island in thousand island "kepulauan seribu" have the best view than bali....the air that i breathe is sooo fresh. evertime i woke up i can see various small fishes swimming in the shallow part of the sea. and there is no other people exept my family, my kazen...it so relax i dont have to care about the clothes i wear.

Sebuah kapal karam di tengah laut karena terjangan badai dan ombak hebat. Hanya dua orang lelaki yang bisa menyelamatkan diri dan berenang ke sebuah pulau kecil yang gersang. Dua orang yang selamat itu tak tahu apa yang harus dilakukan. Namun, mereka berdua yakin bahwa tidak ada yang dapat dilakukan kecuali berdoa. Untuk mengetahui doa siapakah yang paling dikabulkan, mereka sepakat untuk membagi pulau kecil itu menjadi dua wilayah. Dan mereka tinggal sendiri-sendiri berseberangan di sisi-sisi pulau tersebut. Doa pertama mereka panjatkan, mereka memohon agar diturunkan makanan. Esok harinya, lelaki ke satu melihat sebuah pohon penuh dengan buah-buahan tumbuh di sisi tempat tinggalnya. Sedangkan di daerah tempat tinggal lelaki yang lainnya tetap kosong. Seminggu kemudian, lelaki yang ke satu merasa kesepian dan memutuskan untuk berdoa agar diberikan seorang istri. Keesokan harinya, ada kapal yang karam dan satu-satunya penumpang yang selamat adalah seorang wanita yang berenang dan terdampar di sisi tempat lelaki ke satu itu tinggal. Sedangkan di sisi tempat tinggal lelaki ke dua tetap saja tidak ada apa-apanya. Segera saja, lelaki ke satu ini berdoa memohon rumah, pakaian, dan makanan. Keesokan harinya, seperti keajaiban saja, semua yang diminta hadir untuknya. Sedangkan lelaki yang kedua tetap saja tidak mendapatkan apa-apa. Akhirnya, lelaki ke satu ini berdoa meminta kapal agar ia dan istrinya dapat meninggalkan pulau itu. Pagi harinya mereka menemukan sebuah kapal tertambat di sisi pantainya. Segera saja lelaki ke satu dan istrinya naik ke atas kapal dan siap-siap untuk berlayar meninggalkan pulau itu. Ia pun memutuskan untuk meninggalkan lelaki ke dua yang tinggal di sisi lain pulau. Menurutnya, memang lelaki kedua itu tidak pantas menerima berkah tersebut karena doa-doanya tak pernah terkabulkan. Begitu kapal siap berangkat, lelaki ke satu ini mendengar suara dari langit menggema, "Hai, mengapa engkau meninggalkan rekanmu yang ada di sisi lain pulau ini?" "Berkahku hanyalah milikku sendiri, karena hanya doakulah yang dikabulkan," jawab lelaki ke satu ini. "Doa lelaki temanku itu tak satupun dikabulkan. Maka, ia tak pantas mendapatkan apa-apa." "Kau salah!" suara itu membentak membahana. "Tahukah kau bahwa rekanmu itu hanya memiliki satu doa. Dan, semua doanya terkabulkan. Bila tidak, maka kau takkan mendapatkan apa-apa." "Katakan padaku," tanya lelaki ke satu itu. "Doa macam apa yang ia panjatkan sehingga aku harus merasa berhutang atas semua ini padanya?" "Ia berdoa agar semua doamu dikabulkan!"
Renungan: Kesombongan macam apakah yang membuat kita merasa lebih baik dari yang lain? Sadarilah betapa banyak orang yang telah mengorbankan segala sesuatu demi keberhasilan kita. Tak selayaknya kita mengabaikan peran orang lain, dan janganlah menilai seseorang/sesuatu anya dari "yang terlihat" saja.
